Huawei Wins Over 60% Share of China Mobile IMS Equipment Tender, Followed by ZTE

Huawei recently was rewarded the lion's share of the tender floated by China Mobile on November 2009 for the procurement of IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) equipment, the Sohu IT News reported. According to the same source, Huawei fetched 63% share of the tender, followed by ZTE's 16%, while Nokia Siemens Networks, Alcatel Lucent, and Ericsson sharing the remaining 21%. Additionally, Huawei will construct IMS networks for China Mobile in 15 Chinese provinces, including Guangdong, Zhenjiang, and Jiangsu, as well as China Mobile's southern base; ZTE will be in charge of constructing IMS networks in five Chinese provinces, including Hunan and Chongqing; the other three telecom equipment suppliers will be in responsible for the construction of IMS networks in the remaining seven provinces, according to the same source. Deliverables include cover network equipment, service platforms, connection testing equipment and terminals.
